The threat of hostilities with the Dominion has shifted the priorities of the Federation in the Alpha Quadrant. Starfleet is reallocating resources away from science and more towards defence, though there is still hope it will not come to that. Starfleet has tasked the USS Haida with continuing the Federation’s mission of exploration and discovery in the Shackleton Expanse, a great distance from the Bajoran wormhole. Currently, we are docked at Narendra station for a briefing with its head of sciences Dr. T’ven – the leading xeno-archaeologist in the sector.
