Second Day of Critmas

Second Day of Critmas

On the second day of Critmas, my players got from me, two seedling sprouts,
and a Myconid with spores all around.

I liked the way this little dude looked. A lot less “monster” than the Gnoll that I used as this creatures base. That said, I think this thing could be made super terrifying

Artist: Muhammad Atef

Quick Description

These seedling sprouts may look unassuming at first, with their mossy skin and gentle sway in the wind, but don’t let their harmless appearance fool you. Their thorny strikes and digestive enzymes make them a nightmare for any adventurer who dares to tread too close. They may not be the hulking terrors of the wilds, but their quiet menace can bring even seasoned heroes to their knees.

Reskin Details

  • Original Creature: Gnoll CR 1/2
  • Changes:
    • Bite Attack: Reimagined as thorny protrusions or nettles that stab into their prey, possibly releasing an enzyme that starts the digestion process upon contact.
    • Spear: Remains a simple weapon but reimagined as a sturdy branch or fungal stalk.
    • Longbow: Becomes thorn-like projectiles or spores ejected with a sharp, piercing hiss.

Possible Hook

  • Perhaps your adventurers stumble upon these sprouting seedlings guarding an ancient, overgrown treasure trove, attacking any who disturb their grove.

These Seedling Sprouts can deck the halls, what about the other rooms, Come back tomorrow for the third day!
