The USS Ranganathan, a Grissom Class Science Ship was assigned a survey mission to the planet Chatopra eight months ago shortly after it was accepted into the Federation, thanks in large part to the actions of the USS Haida. Then one ecological disaster after another turned paradise into hell. A virus that destroys the phototsynthesis capabilites of flora has been deteced on a handful of Federation planets. It is highly contagious and easily spread, however only deadly to plants and a minute population of humaniods, the Chatoprans amoung them. What began as a survey mission, became a blockade, and is now a fight for survival.
